European Union regulations on Venezuela
On 13 November 2017 the EU issued Council Decision (CFSP) 2017/2074 of concerning restrictive measures in view of the situation in Venezuela. Introducing an embargo on arms and on equipment for internal repression and the creation of Annexes for listed persons, entities and bodies subject to restrictive measures.
This was followed by Council Decision (CFSP) 2018/901 of 25 June 2018 which added persons to the designated persons/entities lists.
On 6 November 2018 the EU renewed the targeted restrictive measures until 14 November 2019.
The current restrictive measures include:
- An embargo on arms and on equipment for internal repression
- Asset freeze on designated persons/entities
- Travel ban on designated persons/entities
